Course Overview:
Cone Beam Computed Tomography (CBCT) is emerging as a new technology that is revolutionizing the practice of veterinary dentistry and oral surgery. ADTC is bringing its tried and true immersive and practical approach to continuing education to this hot button topic. Combining the experience of board-certified veterinary dentists with that of a veterinary radiologist will provides a unique and unparalleled learning experience for participants. Whether a participant wants to improve their skill using an existing CBCT or is looking to add this modality to their practice, this course will further that goal.
Anatomy and pathology of the head and maxillofacial structures including diagnosis and treatment will be covered. Comparison between dental radiographs, CBCT and conventional CT will be discussed as well as when to use each most effectively. Practical workflows for image capture and systematic interpretation will also be included. The course will be divided between didactic lectures and individual exercises carried out using Anatomage® Invivo 7 software on individual workstations. A library of real cases including CBCT, dental radiographs, photos and other relevant case materials will be provided. Anatomage® Invivo 7 is a powerful third party viewing software that works with any DICOM based sectional imaging. Techniques including multiplanar reconstruction (MPR), three dimensional and custom sections will be demonstrated. These techniques are fully relevant and device/software agnostic across the various CBCT manufacturers and software providers regardless of what is being used in the practice.
