For nearly 20 years the Animal Dental Training Center (ADTC) has offered year-round continuing education programs in Oral Surgery & Dentistry. These comprehensive multi-level courses are specifically designed for general veterinary practitioners and veterinary technicians seeking to grow Oral Surgery & Dentistry within their practices.

Day #1 - Saturday:

  • 8am-9am - Lecture: Recognition and Surgical Treatment of Oral Tumors
  • 9am-12pm - Lab: Participants Perform Rostral Mandibulectomy and Rostral Hemimaxillectomy
  • 12pm-1pm - Lunch
  • 1pm-2pm - Lecture: Recognition and Treatment of Congenital and Acquired Palatal Defects
  • 2pm-5pm - Lab: Participants Perform Surgical Repair of Simulated Congenital and Acquired Palatal Defects

Day#2 - Sunday

  • 8am-9am - Lecture: Recognition and Treatment Planning for Jaw Fractures
  • 9am-12pm - Lab: Participants Perform
    • Placement of Circumferential Wiring
    • Interdental Wiring
    • Figure-of-Eight Wiring
    • Interdental Splint Placement
    • Hemisection of Teeth with Pulp Capping for Treatment of Roots in the Fracture Site
    • Placement of Freeze-Dried Bone Graft Material

  • 1pm-2pm - Lecture: Surgical Management of Unusual Oral Lesions
  • 2pm-5pm - Lab: Participants Perform
    • Various Oral Biopsy Techniques
    • Partial Glossectomies including Ligation of Salivary Ducts During Performance of Radical Glossectomies
    • Placement of Esophageal Feeding Tubes
    • Mandibular and Sublingual Salivary Gland Removal for Treatment of Salivary Mucoceles
