The Penn Vet Dentistry and Oral Surgery Service will be hosting a CE course for veterinarians on dental nerve blocks and surgical tooth extraction. This course will be a full day consisting of a 3-hour lecture followed by a 4-hour hands-on wet lab. The upcoming course description is as followed:

Cost: $950 (lunch included)

Nerve blocks used to provide regional anesthesia during dental surgical procedures are discussed, demosntrated and practiced. In addition, indications, contraindications, complications and mechaniscs of tooth extraction and flap techniques are described. Closed and open techniques used to extract single and multi-rooted teeth in dogs or cats and closure of extraction sites are introduced and practiced, along with demonstration of power equipment, handpieces, proper bur selection, and dental surgical instruments.
